Your neighbourhood plan for Harrogate and Central

We’d like to work with you to create a Neighbourhood Plan for your area.

May 2025 review

We have looked to see how best to tackle the issues raised. The main theme was around repairs.

We also are aware that there have been other changes since April with services charges and rents so decided that we would wrap up all these issues up into an event for all customers whose Neighbourhood Plan falls within Harrogate.

We will be holding an open day on:

26th June 10.30 - 2.30
Community House on East Parade in Harrogate.

Along with your Neighbouhood Officer, we hope to have your Income officer to discuss any rent queries you may have. Your Financial Inclusion Officer will be there to advise if you are struggling with money and your Area surveyor will be there to give advice on any repairs you may have - by all means take some photos and bring along if you wish to.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

A Neighbourhood Plan sets out our commitment to you and your community. We want to help build a strong community with you, your neighbours, local businesses, local charities and so many more.

No-one knows your neighbourhood better than you and your neighbours, so to work out how the plan might look, we want to be guided by you.

A Neighbourhood Plan isn’t about “fixing problems”, it's about having a common goal of building a strong community. However, we will try our best to make your neighbourhood the best it can be for you and your community.

We want to know what's important to you and what you'd like to see in your community. We also want to hear what works well; is there someone in your community doing wonderful things for others that should be celebrated? Do you have an idea for your community, such as setting up a group activity that you’d like to arrange but need funding or resources to set it up? We can’t promise we can help with everything but let’s start the conversation.

What's Next?

We'll be arranging walkabouts in your community soon and they will appear as 'Key Dates' on the right-hand side of this page.

We are also looking into arranging a drop-in session in your area as a further opportunity to discuss creating this Neighbourhood Plan for your community if there is interest shown to have this. Additionally, we are brainstorming lots of different ways you can get involved and we would appreciate your input on the survey!
