Your Neighbourhood Plan feedback for Otter Island

We have been working to deliver your first Neighbourhood Plan and it is now drawing to a close. We wanted to let you know what actions we have taken in response to your feedback and how we have shaped our services locally. One of the outcomes of the first plan is that it would be of benefit to combine it with other plan areas so that we can have more impact.

We are combining the Otter Island, Armley Grange Mount and Armley neighbourhood plans this time, and this area will be known as Armley. Please take a look at the feedback document below to see what we have done for your existing neighbourhood plan area, and what we are planning to continue to work on.

We will start asking you for comments on what we can do next shortly. A new survey will be available between 5th December 2025 and 19th December 2025 for you to let us know your current priorities. You will be able to access this between these dates by following this link: https://yourvoice.lfha.co.uk/your-neighbourhood-plan-for-armley.

Some popular options include Bella Italia, TGI Fridays, Morrisons cafes, and Brewers Fayre. Many of these offers are available during specific times, school holidays, or with the purchase of an adult meal. Check online for more details.

Shelter's Money Information Sessions

I’m excited to share that our Money Information Sessions are launching this week!

We’re kicking things off at Leeds Mind and will be rolling out sessions across the city in partnership with a range of local organisations.

With the support of Shelter volunteers, these sessions aim to support individuals facing challenges with living costs and work towards preventing homelessness. The sessions will cover money saving tips, guidance on where to access financial support, and offer signposting to relevant services – ensuring attendees can access the broader help they may need.

We hope these sessions will also help reduce waiting lists for financial advice services – so please do share with your clients and service users.

Litter Free Leeds

Hey folks, just wanted to share something that might be helpful if things are a bit tight right now. There are some great local initiatives working to make sure good food doesn't go to waste and gets to people who need it.

Basically, they team up with businesses to rescue perfectly good surplus food and then share it with the community. It's a win-win: less waste and more support for families.

If you're finding it hard to put food on the table, it might be worth looking into these kinds of projects in our neighbourhood. They're doing some really important work.

It's fantastic to see so many people in Leeds getting involved with Litter Free Leeds! Having over 50 groups regularly litter picking across the city shows a real community spirit and commitment to keeping our neighbourhoods clean and tidy. It sounds like a great way for people to connect with their local area and make a tangible difference.
