Plant up a Herb Pot for Mothers Day - 8th March 2026

A family workshop.
The Woodshed at Ripon Workhouse Museum.
Each family will create one shared pot, choosing from a selection of culinary herbs such as thyme, sage, parsley, oregano and chives.
The session will be led by Catherine Baxter our Head Gardener at Ripon Museums, with support from our garden volunteers. If the weather allows, we’ll also take a gentle wander around the garden to smell and explore our different heritage herbs before planting. If not, we’ll keep everything cosy indoors.
Children will finish off the pot by writing a wooden plant label, made using a wonderful Jennyruth Workshop wooden label featuring a Ripon Museums silhouette.
