Do you live in a stock? Get involved in the Stop Social Housing Stigma language project

Stop Social Housing Stigma (SSHS) have launched a project to explore the language used in the housing sector. From stock and voids to decants and sink estates, SSHS will consider the language tenants and customers regularly hear across the country and how this adds to the stigma of social housing.

The project aims to:

  • surface language used in the sector and raise debate about it
  • promote a culture of home
  • understand preferred language amongst tenants/customers
  • develop common currency about what language should be used
  • inform Government and others about the best terminology to use.
