What Is the Community Grant Fund?

The Community Grants Fund is a small grants programme created to support Leeds Federated customers who want to make a difference in their community. Whether you're planning a one-off event or hoping to start something that grows into a long-term project, this fund can help contribute to the costs of getting started.

Our goal is to help you build connections and neighbourliness, form new groups, and create lasting impact in your neighbourhood and make it a great place to live.

You can apply for a grant of up to £250 to help with the costs of your project or getting something started for your local community.

How to Apply

Applying is simple and straightforward:

  • Download the Application Pack
  • Complete the Application Form Tell us what you want to do, why it matters, and what support you might need.
  • Track Your Spending Keep receipts and record how the grant is used.
  • Share Your Story After your project or event, send us a short summary of what happened and how it benefited your community.

Your success could inspire others, so we encourage you to share photos and feedback that we can showcase.

  • Organise a community activity or event
  • Start a new group or initiative
  • Strengthen connections in their local area

You can apply as an individual, with neighbours, or as part of a tenant group.

    The possibilities are wide-ranging. Here are just a few examples of projects we’ve supported:

    • Christmas parties and seasonal celebrations
    • Tree planting projects
    • Gardening initiatives for shared spaces
    • Craft clubs and creative workshops
    • Fitness and wellbeing activities such as chair aerobics or walking groups

    If your idea brings people together and benefits the wider community, it’s worth applying.

    It is worth mentioning here what we won't fund!

    To ensure fairness and focus, the fund does not support:

    • Personal expenses or payments to individuals
    • Political campaigns or commercial ventures
    • Projects that exclude, discriminate, or promote divisive messages
