Introducing the Housing Hub in Leeds City Centre Come Say Hello

We’re excited to announce the monthly Housing Hub, right in the heart of Leeds City Centre at the Age UK building – and you’re invited!

We’ll be hosting monthly drop-in sessions on the last Friday of every month (except December and January). Whether you want to book an appointment or just pop in while you're in town, our friendly staff team will be there to welcome you, with a hot drink, and some activities to enjoy.

Why We're Doing This

You asked – we listened. Feedback from our customers told us loud and clear: you want more opportunities for face-to-face contact with our teams. The Housing Hub is our way of making that happen, in a relaxed and accessible space.

Or if you prefer drop in, no appointment necessary

Who Will Be There?

Each session will feature a range of staff ready to help with whatever you need:

  • Neighbourhood Officer – Talk about local issues and neighbourhood concerns.
  • Income Team – Get support with your rent account, benefits advice, and income maximisation.
  • Customer Experience Team – Report a repair, raise a complaint, or ask questions about your tenancy.
  • Customer Engagement Team – Discover how you can get involved. Join our Your Voice panel, apply for community grant funding, or share your ideas for local projects.

What’s Happening?

Future sessions will include different topics plus other exciting themes we’re still planning. Have you got an idea for a theme? Let us know – we’d love to hear it.

The next hub is happening on Friday January 9th. The theme is going to be slow cooking. Come and grab a winter warmer stew pack, pick up some delicious recipe ideas and we will be giving away a slow cooker.

A slow cooker isn’t just a handy kitchen appliance, it’s a game changer. With effortless, hands-off cooking, energy savings, and rich, slow-developed flavours, it makes healthy, hearty meals easier than ever.

Why You Should Come

  • A chance to meet the team and get support in person
  • Free refreshments and themed giveaways for everyone
  • Activities to enjoy while you chat

Whether you’ve got a specific issue, you're looking for advice, want to get more involved in your community, or just fancy a drink and a chat – the Housing Hub is here for you.

It was a lively start to the day at the November Housing Hub, with a busy morning followed by a quieter afternoon as the heavy rain rolled in. Inside, though, things stayed warm and festive. We had Christmas crafts on the go, plenty of hot chocolates, and free advent calendars to give away - after all, they’re not just for children!

Alongside the festive fun, customers came in to report repairs, receive money advice (always a big help at this time of year), and talk through housing concerns in a neutral, welcoming space. The feedback from everyone who visited was incredibly positive, with many saying they plan to use the Hub again in the future.

A big thank you to everyone who braved the weather, your visits made the day bright despite the rain!

We’re thrilled to share that our Housing Hub launch event was a huge success!

Customers had the opportunity to meet and chat with staff from a range of teams, discussing all kinds of housing issues and getting expert advice in one place. It was wonderful to see so many people making use of this new, face-to-face service.

Our Halloween-themed launch added a fun twist to the day, the kids especially loved the spooky word searches, colouring activities, and of course, a few tasty trick or treat treats! 🎃

The new venue was a real hit too, a bright, welcoming space where visitors could relax with a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy some delicious cakes. The atmosphere was friendly and buzzing from start to finish, and the feedback was amazing, everyone who came said they’d definitely use the service again!

So, if you missed out this time, don’t worry we’ll be hosting our next session on Friday 28th November. Be sure to book your place for the next Housing Hub event. Keep an eye out to see what theme we’ll be focusing on next… (Did someone say Christmas? 🎄)

Got an idea for a future theme or activity? We’d love to hear from you! Let us know what you’d like to see happening at the Hub.
