What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
We’d like to work with you to create a Neighbourhood Plan for your area.
A Neighbourhood Plan sets out our commitment to you and your community. We want to help build a strong community with you, your neighbours, local businesses, local charities and so many more.
But no-one knows your neighbourhood better than you and your neighbours, so to work out how the plan might look, we want to be guided by you.
On Thurssday 7th March 2024, between 10:30am and 12:30pm, Leeds Federated Housing Association will be doing a walkabout on Orchard Gardens. It’s a chance for us to meet with you face to face, chat through what is important to you and what you’d like to see in your community. We also want to hear what works well; is there someone in your community doing wonderful things for others that should be celebrated? Do you have an idea for your community, such as setting up a group activity, that you’d like to arrange but need funding or resources to set it up? We can’t promise we can help with everything but let’s start the conversation.
A Neighbourhood Plan isn’t about “fixing problems”, it’s about linking organisations, charities, volunteers and people with shared interests together, with the common goal of building a strong community.
Sounds great, but what do you need from me?
We’d love to see you on Thursday 7th March 2024 if you can make it. It would also be really helpful for us to hear from you before then, if you can spare a few minutes to complete the survey (please see the link below).
Anyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw, with a chance to win one of two £50 Love to Shop Vouchers!
What happens after the Walk-a-bout?
We’ll look at all the feedback you’ve given us and make a suggestion of what your Neighbourhood Plan could be. We’ll arrange to meet with you, either online or in person to check you’re happy with it and discuss what happens next.
We’ll update this page towards mid March 2024, and we’ll write to you then as well.
We’d like to ask you a few questions to get a more in-depth understanding of how you feel about your neighbourhood.
