Chapel Allerton and Moortown sit to the north of Leeds city centre and are known for their welcoming communities, leafy streets and vibrant local atmosphere. Popular with families, young professionals and long-term residents alike, the area combines independent businesses, green spaces and strong community spirit.

Residents enjoy an excellent range of amenities, from independent cafés, bars and restaurants around Chapel Allerton’s bustling centre to supermarkets and shops along Street Lane, Harrogate Road and Moortown Corner. Local favourites include Seven Arts, Chapel Allerton Park and the historic Meanwood Valley Trail, while nearby Roundhay Park offers one of the largest urban parks in Europe.

Chapel Allerton and Moortown are part of the Chapel Allerton and Moortown wards. Your local councillors include Jane Dowson and Mohammed Rafique for Chapel Allerton, alongside Mohammed Shahzad and Sharon Hamilton for Moortown, all of whom support local community initiatives and neighbourhood projects.
