Landscaping has taken place at Maple garth and Cliff Mews. At Maple Garth we took out all the old unsightly shrubs and bark chippings and replaced them with a selection of beautiful easy maintainable plants and pebbles. Not only does it look amazing it has also reduced the upkeep costs which will have a positive impact on service charges moving forward.
Cliff Mews\Mount View, the developers have finally finished the landscaping and a fence has been erected to the rear of Cliff Mews which offers customer more privacy. there is still a little bit of work to do to the side of Cliff Mews, but we are getting there.

Do you have a child under 5 and need practical and emotional support?
Home-Start Kirklees is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of children. We offer practical & emotional support to families in Kirklees with at least one child under the age of 5 and not in full time education. We recognise the challenges of raising our children in a safe & nurturing environment whilst coping with the stresses of ill health, isolation, disrupted relationships, insecure housing, financial insecurity, trauma, abuse and loss. Sometimes, we also just need someone to talk to, to be there to listen. Since 1999 our volunteers have been visiting families in their own home, offering unique, needs-led support and sharing their own parenting experiences and helping families to build their resilience to cope." check out their website here homestart-kirklees.org.uk
We have been thinking about how we can help our customers with hearing and speaking difficulties communicate with us and we have partnered up with Relay UK. For more information on how this works check out this link Relay UK - homepage | Relay UK
I just wanted to make you aware of the current Kirklees Digital Inclusion offered through the Council, for those that do not know much about it, and how it may benefit you or people you may know. Sally Kerry is the Digital Inclusion Librarian at Kirklees Council. Sally is promoting digital inclusion for people on low incomes, and vulnerable individuals, who do not have access to the internet at home and would benefit from doing so for connecting with others, job search, etc.. This includes the 3-month loans of Chromebooks with internet access to people, along with 6 month SIM cards with 40GB of data and unlimited calls for people to use in your own phones. There are also digital offers through Kirklees libraries where you can access digital newspapers, both national and international, along with digital magazines and audiobooks. This is open to everyone and is free of charge! In order to express interest in obtaining one, you need to register for one on the My Kirklees website. If you are then authorised one, you would collect the item from the Studies Library on Victoria Lane.
We have a new approach to dealing with anti-social behaviour, you can check out this and other policies here: Our policies
We have been working closely with a charity helping with food poverty called Surplus to Purpose. This amazing charity is on a mission to tackle one of the UK’s biggest challenges: food waste. Every year, 9.5 million tons of perfectly good food is discarded, while countless families and communities face food insecurity. They bridge the gap by rescuing surplus food from businesses and redistributing it. Join them on their mission to reduce waste, feed the world, and make a positive, sustainable impact on our planet. You can shop instore or online, check out this link Online Supermarket | Surplus to Purpose CIC for further details.
