Lincoln Green, Burmantofts and Ebor Gardens sit just east of Leeds city centre, close to St James’s University Hospital. Known for their diverse communities and strong local identity, these neighbourhoods are places where neighbours look out for one another and community spirit thrives.
Residents benefit from a wide range of local amenities, including Lincoln Green Shopping Centre, St James’s University Hospital, Ebor Gardens Primary Academy and local community hubs across Burmantofts. Hidden gems include the green spaces around East End Park, community activities at the Bangladeshi Centre and local support services at Ebor Gardens Advice Centre.
Lincoln Green, Burmantofts and Ebor Gardens are part of the Burmantofts and Richmond Hill ward. Your councillors, Luke Farley, Asghar Khan and Nkele Manaka are active in supporting local initiatives and neighbourhood projects across the area.
Getting around is easy with regular buses along York Road and Easy Road into Leeds city centre. The area is within walking distance of the city centre and benefits from excellent access to local shops, schools and healthcare services.
Residents enjoy nearby green spaces including East End Park and community play areas throughout the estates. The neighbourhood is also close to the cultural and creative developments taking place in Mabgate and the wider East Leeds area.
Young people can take part in sports, youth activities and community programmes through local schools, youth groups and nearby community centres. Ebor Gardens Primary Academy plays an important role at the heart of the local community, with activities and support for families throughout the year.
Stay active with local gyms, football pitches and community fitness sessions nearby, while residents also support grassroots organisations and neighbourhood events across Burmantofts and Lincoln Green.
The area has a rich history shaped by migration, industry and regeneration. Burmantofts was once famous for Burmantofts Pottery and Leeds’ textile industry, while Lincoln Green became known for its major redevelopment during the 20th century and its close-knit community identity.
