Richmond Hill and East End Park sit just east of Leeds city centre and are known for their strong community spirit, diverse neighbourhoods and rich local history. Residents enjoy being close to the city while still having access to local parks, schools and community spaces.

The area has a wide range of amenities, including local shops along York Road and East Park Road, supermarkets such as Aldi and Tesco Express, healthcare services at East Park Medical Centre and St James’s University Hospital nearby. Popular local spots include East End Park itself, with open green space and play areas for families, and the historic St Saviour’s Church in Richmond Hill.

Richmond Hill and East End Park are part of the Burmantofts and Richmond Hill ward. Your local councillors, Luke Farley, Asghar Khan and Nkele Manaka, are active in supporting community projects and local residents across the area.

Getting around is easy with regular bus routes along York Road and easy access to Leeds city centre, which is less than two miles away. Leeds Train Station is also within easy reach for commuting and travel across West Yorkshire.

Residents enjoy local green spaces including East End Park, Ebor Gardens and the nearby Leeds waterfront. The area’s location makes it easy to access the city centre, local schools and community facilities.

Young people can get involved in activities and support services through organisations such as the Leeds Youth Service, local schools and nearby community centres. Seasonal events, holiday activities and outreach programmes regularly take place across the ward.

For sport and fitness, residents can access local gyms, sports pitches and leisure facilities nearby, including John Charles Centre for Sport and community fitness sessions across east Leeds. Football and rugby are popular locally, with strong community participation in grassroots sports.

Richmond Hill and East End Park have a fascinating industrial heritage, with many traditional red-brick terraces and historic buildings still shaping the area today. The neighbourhood played an important role in Leeds’ industrial growth and continues to evolve through regeneration and investment in housing and public spaces.
