Rothwell, Oulton and Robin Hood sit in the south of Leeds, offering a strong sense of community and a great balance between town and countryside living. Known for their friendly atmosphere, these areas are places where neighbours feel connected and local pride runs deep.

Residents enjoy a wide range of amenities, from independent shops and cafés in Rothwell town centre to supermarkets including Aldi and Morrisons nearby. Local favourites include Oulton Hall, Rothwell Country Park and the historic Leeds and Liverpool Canal routes which are popular with walkers and cyclists alike.

The area is part of the Rothwell and Ardsley & Robin Hood wards. Your local councillors include Stewart Golton, Diane Chapman and Conrad Hart-Brooke in Rothwell, alongside councillors representing Robin Hood and surrounding communities. They regularly support local initiatives, community groups and neighbourhood events.

Getting around is easy with regular bus services connecting Rothwell, Oulton and Robin Hood to Leeds city centre, Wakefield and surrounding areas. Woodlesford railway station also offers convenient rail links across West Yorkshire, while the M1 and M62 are only a short drive away.

Residents enjoy spending time outdoors at Springhead Park, Rothwell Country Park and the green spaces around Oulton Beck. The nearby Trans Pennine Trail and canal paths are popular for walking, cycling and family days out.

Young people can get involved in local sports teams, youth activities and community events held across Rothwell and Oulton. Schools, churches and community centres regularly host seasonal fairs, sports sessions and family activities throughout the year.

Stay active with local gyms, fitness classes and sports clubs across the area. Residents also support grassroots football, cricket and rugby teams, helping create a strong community spirit throughout the year.

Rothwell, Oulton and Robin Hood have a rich local history rooted in Yorkshire’s mining heritage. From historic village centres and traditional stone buildings to the legacy of local collieries and rail connections, the area continues to celebrate its proud community identity.
