Whinmoor, Seacroft and Killingbeck are vibrant east Leeds communities with a strong local identity and welcoming neighbourhood spirit. Residents enjoy a mix of green spaces, local amenities and community activities that bring people together throughout the year.

The area is home to a range of local facilities, from shops at Seacroft Green Shopping Centre and Cross Gates Shopping Centre to healthcare services at Seacroft Hospital and local GP practices. Community favourites include Fearnville Leisure Centre, the John Charles Centre outreach programmes, and nearby Roundhay Park for family days out and walks.

Whinmoor, Seacroft and Killingbeck sit within the Killingbeck and Seacroft and Cross Gates and Whinmoor wards. Local councillors including Katie Dye, David Jenkins and John Tudor are active in supporting community projects and neighbourhood improvements across east Leeds.

Getting around is easy with regular bus services along York Road, Easterly Road and the Ring Road, offering quick links into Leeds city centre. Cross Gates railway station is also nearby, making travel across Leeds and West Yorkshire convenient for residents.

Residents enjoy spending time outdoors at places like Whinmoor Park, Seacroft Green and Killingbeck Fields. The area also benefits from nearby scenic routes around Temple Newsam and Roundhay Park.

Young people can get involved in sports, youth clubs and creative activities through organisations such as LS14 Trust and local community centres across Seacroft and Whinmoor. Seasonal events, family fun days and school holiday activities are held regularly throughout the year.

Stay active at Fearnville Leisure Centre or make use of local football pitches, gyms and walking routes across east Leeds. Residents also enjoy supporting local grassroots teams and taking part in community fitness sessions.

Whinmoor, Seacroft and Killingbeck have a rich history shaped by Leeds’ growth through the twentieth century, from historic village roots in Seacroft to the development of large community estates and modern regeneration projects that continue to shape the area today.

A Neighbourhood Plan sets out our commitment to you and your community. We want to help build a strong community with you, your neighbours, local businesses, local charities and so many more.
No-one knows your neighbourhood better than you and your neighbours, so to work out how the plan might look, we want to be guided by you.
A Neighbourhood Plan isn’t about “fixing problems”, it's about having a common goal of building a strong community. However, we will try our best to make your neighbourhood the best it can be for you and your community.

We want to know what's important to you and what you'd like to see in your community. We also want to hear what works well; is there someone in your community doing wonderful things for others that should be celebrated? Do you have an idea for your community, such as setting up a group activity that you’d like to arrange but need funding or resources to set it up? We can’t promise we can help with everything but let’s start the conversation.

We'd love to hear from you and begin to get an understanding of how you feel about your neighbourhood.
Have your say now by taking part in the survey - this should only take a couple minutes to complete. Your answers will only be visible to Leeds Federated staff, and we'd really welcome your honest feedback.

What's Next?
We'll be arranging walkabouts in your community soon and they will appear as 'Key Dates' on the right-hand side of this page.
We are also looking into arranging a drop-in session in your area as a further opportunity to discuss creating this Neighbourhood Plan for your community if there is interest shown to have this. Additionally, we are brainstorming lots of different ways you can get involved and we would appreciate your input on the survey!
