You’ll find your Neighbourhood Plan here (just click or tap the image below)

Your plan has been created using your feedback from recent surveys. It highlights what’s working well, what needs attention, and the priorities you’ve told us matter most. We’ve also developed an Action Plan to show how we’ll deliver on these priorities.

This page is your hub for updates, news, and ways to get involved. Check out the newsfeed below for the latest, explore other pages for wider projects, and discover how you can share your ideas or join in.

Plus, a little bonus: every month, we’re giving away a £30 voucher to someone who interacts on the Your Voice site – whether that’s leaving a comment, completing a survey, or sharing something creative. So, get involved and have your say!

Yeadon and Adel sit in the north west of Leeds, close to Leeds Bradford Airport and surrounded by green spaces and countryside walks. Known for their strong sense of community, both areas offer a welcoming atmosphere where neighbours feel connected.

Residents enjoy a great mix of amenities, from local independent shops and cafés on Yeadon High Street to supermarkets, medical centres and friendly local pubs throughout Adel and nearby Cookridge. Hidden gems include Yeadon Tarn, popular for walking, sailing and family events, alongside Adel Woods and the historic ruins of Kirkstall Abbey just a short drive away.

Yeadon is part of the Otley and Yeadon ward, represented by councillors Colin Campbell, Ryk Downes and Sandy Lay. Adel sits within the Adel and Wharfedale ward, represented by councillors Barry Anderson and Billy Flynn, who are active in supporting local initiatives and community groups.

Getting around is easy with regular bus routes along the A65 and A660 corridors, connecting residents to Leeds city centre, Otley and Horsforth. Leeds Bradford Airport is nearby, and rail connections are available from Horsforth and Guiseley stations.

Residents love making use of local green spaces including Yeadon Tarn, Adel Dam Nature Reserve and Golden Acre Park, all offering peaceful walks, cycling routes and outdoor activities. Families also enjoy nearby playgrounds, sports clubs and community events throughout the year.

Young people can take part in local sports teams, arts activities and youth programmes across Yeadon, Adel and surrounding areas, with community centres and schools hosting events throughout the summer months.

Stay active at local gyms and leisure facilities in Yeadon and Cookridge, or support nearby sports clubs and community fitness groups. The area also provides excellent access to countryside walks across the Yorkshire landscape.

Yeadon and Adel both have fascinating local histories. Adel is home to the historic Adel Church, one of the finest surviving Norman churches in Yorkshire, while Yeadon has strong links to aviation history through Leeds Bradford Airport and the former Yeadon Aerodrome. Together, the areas combine village charm with excellent connections to Leeds and the surrounding countryside.
