Hyde Park sits just north-west of Leeds city centre, close to Headingley and Woodhouse Moor. Known for its lively atmosphere and strong community spirit, it’s a place where long-term residents, families and students all come together.
Residents enjoy a great mix of independent businesses and everyday amenities, from local favourites like Hyde Park Book Club, Brudenell Social Club and the cafés along Queen’s Road to nearby supermarkets, gyms and healthcare services. Hidden gems include Woodhouse Moor, one of Leeds’ most popular green spaces, and the historic Hyde Park Picture House, one of the UK’s oldest cinemas.
Hyde Park is part of the Headingley and Hyde Park ward. Your councillors, Jonathan Pryor, Abdul Hannan and Tim Goodall are active in supporting local initiatives and community projects across the area. (Wikipedia)
Getting around is easy with regular buses along Headingley Lane and Kirkstall Road, while Leeds city centre is within walking distance. The area is well connected to the universities, Headingley and Burley, making it popular with both professionals and students.
Explore Woodhouse Moor for peaceful walks, sports and summer events. Residents also enjoy nearby green spaces including Woodhouse Ridge and Meanwood Valley Trail.
Young people can get involved in sports, arts and community activities through local groups and organisations across Hyde Park and Headingley. Community events, charity fundraisers and neighbourhood clean-up days take place throughout the year.
Stay active at The Edge sports centre or enjoy fitness classes and social sports nearby. Cheer on local teams at Headingley Stadium or take part in community activities across the area.
Hyde Park has a rich cultural history, from its iconic Victorian terraces to its thriving music and arts scene. Did you know that Hyde Park Picture House has been welcoming cinema-goers since 1914 and is one of the oldest surviving gas-lit cinemas in the world?

We want to help build a strong community with you, your neighbours, local businesses, local charities and so many more.
No-one knows your neighbourhood better than you and your neighbours, so to work out how the plan might look, we want to be guided by you.
A Neighbourhood Plan isn’t about “fixing problems”, it's about having a common goal of building a strong community. However, we will try our best to make your neighbourhood the best it can be for you and your community.

A Neighbourhood Plan isn’t about “fixing problems”, it's about having a common goal of building a strong community. However, we will try our best to make your neighbourhood the best it can be for you and your community.
We want to know what's important to you and what you'd like to see in your community. We also want to hear what works well; is there someone in your community doing wonderful things for others that should be celebrated? Do you have an idea for your community, such as setting up a group activity that you’d like to arrange but need funding or resources to set it up? We can’t promise we can help with everything but let’s start the conversation.
Take part in the Survey
We'd love to hear from you and begin to get an understanding of how you feel about your neighbourhood.
Have your say now by taking part in the survey - this should only take a couple minutes to complete. Your answers will only be visible to Leeds Federated staff, and we'd really welcome your honest feedback.
Click the link to the survey at the bottom of this page to get started!
What's Next?
Once we have received the survey results we will analyse all the feedback and compile a new Neighbourhood Plan for the area you live in.
