Oatland Place sits just north of Leeds city centre, close to Little London and Woodhouse. Known for its diverse and close-knit community, it’s a neighbourhood where residents benefit from being near both the city centre and local green spaces.

Residents enjoy easy access to everyday amenities, including the Oatlands Retail Centre on Oatland Drive, local convenience stores, pharmacies and nearby supermarkets. The area is also close to Leeds General Infirmary, the University of Leeds and local community facilities around Little London.

Oatland Place is part of the Little London and Woodhouse ward. Your councillors, Javaid Akhtar, Eden Hills and Abigail Marshall Katung support local residents and community initiatives across the area.

Getting around is easy with regular bus routes along Meanwood Road, Woodhouse Lane and Oatland Drive, offering quick links into Leeds city centre. The area is within walking distance of the city centre, universities and local shops, making it popular with families, students and working residents alike.

Residents can enjoy nearby green spaces including Lovell Park, Woodhouse Moor and the Meanwood Valley Trail, all offering places to walk, relax and stay active. Community events and activities also take place throughout Little London and Woodhouse during the year.

Young people in the area can access youth activities, sports sessions and outreach programmes through local organisations including the Little London Community Centre and facilities across inner north Leeds.

Stay active with nearby gyms, football pitches and walking routes, or support local teams and community fitness groups across Leeds. The area’s central location also makes it easy to enjoy the city’s cultural venues, restaurants and nightlife.

Oatland Place has a rich urban history as part of the wider Little London and Woodhouse community, an area shaped by Leeds’ industrial growth and later regeneration. Today, it remains a vibrant and well-connected part of the city with a strong community spirit.

A Neighbourhood Plan sets out our commitment to you and your community. We want to help build a strong community with you, your neighbours, local businesses, local charities and so many more.

No-one knows your neighbourhood better than you and your neighbours, so to work out how the plan might look, we want to be guided by you.

A Neighbourhood Plan isn’t about “fixing problems”, it's about having a common goal of building a strong community. However, we will try our best to make your neighbourhood the best it can be for you and your community.

We want to know what's important to you and what you'd like to see in your community. We also want to hear what works well; is there someone in your community doing wonderful things for others that should be celebrated? Do you have an idea for your community, such as setting up a group activity that you’d like to arrange but need funding or resources to set it up? We can’t promise we can help with everything but let’s start the conversation.
