We have been working to deliver your first Neighbourhood Plan and it is now drawing to a close. We wanted to let you know what actions we have taken in response to your feedback and how we have shaped our services locally. One of the outcomes of the first plan is that it would be of benefit to combine it with other plan areas so that we can have more impact.

We are combining Stanley, Hemsworth, Ackworth, South Elmsall and Wakefield plan areas together this time, and this area will be known as Wakefield and District.

Please take a look at the feedback document by tapping or clicking here to see what we have done, and what we are planning to continue to work on.

We would also like your comments on what we can do next. A new survey is available for you to let us know your current priorities.

You can access this survey by clicking or tapping here. Please complete the survey before 12th June 2026.

We will use the information you provide us to develop your new Neighbourhood Plan - so please share your views!

A Neighbourhood Plan sets out our commitment to you and your community. We want to help build a strong community with you, your neighbours, local businesses, local charities and so many more.

No-one knows your neighbourhood better than you and your neighbours, so to work out how the plan might look, we want to be guided by you.

A Neighbourhood Plan isn’t about “fixing problems”, it's about having a common goal of building a strong community. However, we will try our best to make your neighbourhood the best it can be for you and your community.
